Commissions

At this time, I am concentrating on schoolwork and Patchwork Boy. But if opportunity knocks, I will answer the door - even if just to say "go away!".
I prefer being contacted by email, because I just can't be near the phone all day.

  • Digital quilts take as much time as real fabric, about 4 weeks. What digital saves in time by not cutting and stitching is offset by the need to render textures and shadows.
  • Digital is less expensive because there are fewer materials involved. But if you want a digital project rendered on paper or cloth, the prices are pretty close
  • If you contract for an illustration, you are licensing the right to use an image as detailed in the contract; I retain ownership of the original.
  • If you want a quilt for your collection, I retain the right to use the image. This would tend to restrict your rights; you couldn't release the image into the public domain, for instance.
  • I do not work on spec. If you want to discuss a project, you may hire me by the hour to develop an idea.
  • Unsolicited ideas become my property without compensation in return. This is to protect me from spurious claims. I deal with a lot of ideas and some of mine are surely going to sound like some of yours.
